Camiel Eurlings has been appointed President & CEO of KLM effective 1 July 2013. He will succeed Peter Hartman, CEO since 1 April 2007, who will retire on 1 January 2014.
As of 1 July 2013, KLM's statutory Board of Managing Directors will then consist of Camiel Eurlings, Pieter Elbers and Erik Varwijk. Mr Eurlings joined the KLM board on 1 July 2011.
Hartman will retain his seat on the Air France KLM Board of Directors and, in this capacity, will continue to be closely involved in the development of Air France KLM.
“The Supervisory Board voted unanimously in favour of Camiel Eurlings’ appointment and has expressed its full confidence in him and the management team that will be heading up KLM under his leadership with effect from 1 July 2013,” says Kees Storm, Chairman of the Supervisory Board.
“I welcome the Supervisory Board's appointment of Camiel Eurlings as my successor with much enthusiasm. The management team he will lead is highly complementary in terms of experience and background,” says Peter Hartman, President & CEO of KLM.
