The national weather service has warned a Kansas International Airport to prepare for a severe winter storm. Many airlines that fly through the airport are offering travellers the opportunity to reschedule flights in advance of the storm without extra charges.
The National Weather Service, said there will be a “crippling winter storm Tuesday” with “very heavy snow, strong winds and blizzard conditions.”
A similar snow storm is also expected to hit Chicago, Illinois, and large sections of the country's midsection, leading even more airlines to allow passengers to change plans.
O'Hare International and Midway International are standing by to implement a passenger assistance program in the event the storm strands passengers at the airports. Hundreds of cots will be available and some concessions will remain open to accommodate any stranded.
