K2 Aviation has closed a purchase of six Airbus and Boeing aircraft from Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE).
The Dublin-based lessor said the aircraft will be on lease with five new airline customers: Air Transat, BBN Indonesia, Braathens, Jetstar Japan and Volotea. DAE was appointed as servicer of the assets.
Charles Graham, chair of K2 Aviation, said the company was advised on the transaction by Franklin BSP Capital Corporation, AV AirFinance, Watson Farley & Williams and KPMG.
The news follows the announcement, in January this year, that K2 Aviation had entered a definitive agreement to purchase seven Airbus and Boeing aircraft on lease to six airline customers.
K2 Aviation did not mention the seventh aircraft in its latest announcement. Airline Economics has contacted K2 Aviation for comment.
In 2024, K2 Aviation was launched following a rebrand from Kahala Aviation Group.
As covered by Airline Economics, the new company said it plans to to invest in mid- to end-of-life commercial aircraft while offering “tailored solutions” to clients.
