Jetstar is all set to resume direct flights between Cairns and Newcastle starting June 24, 2022. The airline will operate thrice weekly till October 2023 using an Airbus A320.
“We saw strong demand in both directions when the route was first launched in 2021 and we expect it will be more popular than ever this year,” said Jetstar’s chief customer officer, Alan McIntyre. “We extend our thanks to Cairns and Newcastle airports for their continued support of these flights.”
The airline believes that with a capacity of over 6000 passenger per month on the route, the two cities will get a potential boost in trade and tourism
