JetBlue traffic up in January

JetBlue Airways preliminary traffic results for January 2013 show traffic increased 11.2% from January 2012, on a capacity increase of 9.9%.
Load factor for January 2013 was 81.7%, an increase of 1.0 point from January 2012. JetBlue's preliminary completion factor was 99.7% and its on-time performance was 78.3%. JetBlue's preliminary passenger revenue per available seat mile (PRASM) for the month of January was relatively flat year over year. For the month of February, PRASM is expected to be relatively flat year over year.
JetBlue Airways plans to add a second daily nonstop flight between San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), as well as a second daily summer seasonal flight to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS), effective May 21, 2013.

JetBlue's new service comes on the heels of recent increased coast-to-coast flights, including a second daily flight between Fort Lauderdale and Los Angeles (LAX), which took to the skies on January 7, 2013; a second daily flight between Boston's Logan (BOS) and San Diego International Airport (SAN) starting May 1, 2013; and a third flight between Boston and Seattle (SEA) starting May 16, 2013
