JetBlue is proceeding with its previously-announced plan for a pre-payment of 10 cents a share to Spirit Airlines stockholders.
“JetBlue has set April 24, 2023, as the record date for the April 2023 prepayment to Spirit stockholders of $0.10 per Spirit share (the “April 2023 Additional Prepayment”), with payment of the April 2023 Additional Prepayment to occur on April 28, 2023,” the carrier said, echoing plans previous statements on the matter.
JetBlue and Spirit are attempting to merge, a plan that has been stalled by a US government court challenge. The pay-out is part of the proposed merger deal, which critics label a buy-out.
“Pursuant to the merger agreement, Spirit stockholders as of the April 24, 2023, record date will be entitled to receive the April 2023 additional pre-payment,” JetBlue said in its latest announcement.
