the Midwest, while diversifying and advancing its New York and Boston focus city strategy.

“Adding Milwaukee to our route map will help diversify our markets, support our Northeast growth strategy and give our customers more travel options,” said Andrea Lusso, vice president network planning, JetBlue. “We are excited to offer our customers flying for business or leisure an opportunity to explore Milwaukee and connect Milwaukee residents to our New York and Boston focus city networks.”

JetBlue has also officially launched service from(JFK and BOS to Kansas City International Airport (MCI), which has been enabled by JetBlue’s Northeast Alliance (NEA). In 2022, the NEA will offer nearly 500 daily departures from New York’s three major airports and 200 daily departures from Boston.

“Our customers and crewmembers have been asking for years to add flights to the Midwest and we listened,” said Lusso. “We are very excited to add Kansas City to our growing network and connect the Northeast to the heart of America by introducing our low fares and outstanding service and providing customers access to our New York and Boston focus city networks.”

Meanwhile, JetBlue is understood to have secured slots from BOS and London Heathrow and Gatwick airports for the summer season.

JetBlue holds 116 air traffic movement slots allocated to Boston-Gatwick service, enough for 58 round trip flights. The Heathrow allocation is 310 slots. Slots don’t mean services, however, and the airline has yet to confirm any new transatlantic routes.
