JetBlue has appointed David Marcontell to be the airline’s new vice president of technical operations starting June 17.
In a statement from JetBlue, Marcontell’s new role will see him “lead maintenance, materials, engineering, quality and other operational functions”.
He will report to Warren Christie, chief operating officer.
“Dave brings deep industry expertise as we continue to focus on improving reliability across our operation,” said Christie.
“He will play a critical role in ensuring our technical operations crewmembers have the skills, tools, and resources they need to deliver safe and reliable aircraft.”
Marcontell said: “It’s honour to be joining JetBlue during such a pivotal chapter for the airline. JetBlue is a beloved brand among travellers and I look forward to bringing my experience to an already well-performing organization.
“Together, we’ll ensure our growing fleet fulfils those high expectations”.
