JetBlue announces first foray into retail

JetBlue Travel Products has announced what it said was an "industry-first partnership with United States Luggage Company".

The company, which is part of JetBlue, was making its "first foray into retail" and "furthering JetBlue’s dedication to being a trusted travel partner rather than just an airline", it said on February 28.

The statement came as the carrier awaited a US Department of Justice decision on whether it should file a lawsuit to block the proposed merger of JetBlue with low-cost carrier Spirit Airlines on anti-trust grounds. The DOJ was expected to announce its next move by late February or early March, Spirit said recently.

In the meantime, JetBlue said customers can buy travel bags from Briggs & Riley and Solo on its Paisly.com travel booking website, with the purchases to earn customers points on the airline's TrueBlue loyalty programme

“Giving customers the option to purchase luggage and bags on Paisly.com gives them a one-stop-shop solution to all their travel needs, and offers customers even more ways to earn TrueBlue points," said Andres Barry, president, JetBlue Travel Products.
