Jet2 has slightly raised its full-year financial guidance (before re-evaluation and taxation) to between £510 - £525 million ($642 - $660 million) for the current financial year, above a previous estimate of £480 - £520 million ($604 - $654 million), with forward passenger bookings currently up by 17%.
Overall seat capacity is up 20.5%, with summer 2024’s seat capacity currently 12.5% higher than 2023 at 17.2 million seats. Forward bookings are already 1.5 percentage points ahead of last year’s load factor, with package holiday customers up by 77%; taking the total mix of package holiday customers to 77%.
Five new CFM-powered A321neo aircraft (delivered on time from Airbus) will help realise this augmented seat capacity, with a further six units due to arrive before the end of 2025. “We are pleased with how the 2024 financial year is ending and are encourage by early bookings for summer 2024,” said Jet2 chief executive officer Steve Heapy, adding: “whilst recognising that there are many demands on consumer discretionary incomes, we believe that our customers cherish their time away”.
Additionally, Jet2 and Jet2CityBreaks have announced seven new routes for the winter 24/25 season, including the launch of the first Christmas Markets programme from Liverpool John Lennon Airport; an initiative representing over 100,000 seats on sale and a capacity increase of over 30% compared to winter 23/24. This additional capacity and seasonal schedule extensions constitute a “huge milestone,” said Heapy, adding: “we are delighted to say we now have over 500 routes on sale overall across our network”.
