Jet2 funds one A321neo

Bank of China has closed the successful financing of a brand new A321neo aircraft delivered from Airbus to Jet2 and to be operated by Jet2.com. This aircraft marks the first A321neo financing for Jet2. Bank of China (London Branch) acted as sole arranger, facility agent and security trustee of the JOLCO transaction, while BBAM was appointed as equity arranger.

The A321neo bears the manufacturer’s serial number 11489 and UK Registration Mark G-SUND. The transaction is the first of two A321neo deliveries where the Bank of China has been mandated, with the second aircraft scheduled to close later in Summer 2023.

Speaking about the transaction, Arnaud Fiscel, Head of Transportation at Bank of China London Branch, said: “Bank of China is delighted to build on the strong, long ongoing relationship with Jet2 plc and to be structurers of the first financing of Jet2’s A321neo deliveries. This transaction marks another milestone for Bank of China’s ongoing support for Jet2, following previous financings for Boeing 737-800NG aircraft”.

Philip Meeson, Jet plc Executive Chairman commented: “We are very pleased to have been able to finance this aircraft with Bank of China, who have been supportive long-term partners. We are also delighted to begin our relationship with BBAM and very much hope we can build on this in the future.”
