Jet2 announces new base; CEO comments on refunds

Jet2 has announcing the launch of flights and holidays from Bristol Airport, which is the airline’s tenth UK base.

Jet2 has launched its summer 2021 schedule from Bristol Airport, which includes 29 routes to holiday destinations in Turkey, Greece and Spain. Jet2 will operate up to 56 weekly flights during the summer season, with flights beginning on April 1, 2021. The airline will also operate 11 destinations for Winter 21/22, sun and ski holidays across Europe.

Jet2 is promoting its “customer-first strategy” throughout the Coronavirus pandemic, which includes being recognised as the only UK airline to promptly provide refunds without significant backlogs, following a review by the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays commented recently that delays by airlines to refund customers for cancelled flights gave a bad impression of the industry and hopes that the company’s timely commitment to repaying refunds would be rewarded with future bookings.
