A training audit of Jet Airways by the Indian Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has indicated that the carrier is cutting down on training its pilots and is facing a severe shortage of trainers across its ATR and Boeing fleets.
"Strength of trainers in Jet Airways training facilities is found substantially low as per the recommended strength in the Directorate General of Civil Aviation operations circular as well as training manual for all types of fleet except Airbus 330," reads the report.
The report goes on to stated that the airline's training division is overlooking numerous deficiencies with signatures of trainee and trainers missing in many cases and certifications by trainers and rule check forms "not appropriately filed".
The airline has stated that Jet Airways it will be guided by the regulator for any further action.
