A Jet Airways ATR 72, Flight 9W 2839, made an emergency landing in Bangalore Airport yesterday after smoke was detected in the cabin. The airline confirmed that five passengers were receiving medical care with all of the remaining 60 passengers taken to the airport’s lounge. The aircraft is being inspected by the Jet Airways engineering team. The airline has informed DGCA about the incident.
In a complete statement, the airline said: “Jet Airways flight 9W 2839 from Bangalore to Mangalore returned to Bangalore airport soon after departure due to smoke detected in the cabin.
“Precautionary evacuation of guests and crew was carried out immediately after landing.”
The airline further added: “All 65 guests and four crew are safe.”
