Jazeera Airways is all set to launch four weekly direct flights between Kuwait and Egypt's Sphinx International Airport (SPX) starting May 16. The airline plans to deploy its A320neo on the route.
With this launch, Jazeera Airways will serve seven destinations in Egypt providing customers with easy access to Greater Cairo, Giza tourist sites, and Red Sea resorts.
Delighted at the launch, Rohit Ramachandran, CEO, Jazeera Airways said: "With four flights a week to this great leisure destination, we also offer a convenient and affordable travel option for Kuwaiti students studying in the country as well as the Egyptian ex-pat community visiting families back home. I would like to especially take this opportunity to thank the Egyptian Civil Aviation authorities for their tireless efforts to open up greater connectivity to this beautiful country."
Egypt is the second most visited country in Africa, with 7.9 million people visiting last year.
The two terminals at Sphinx Airport have an annual capacity of 1.2 million passengers, serving up to 900 people every hour. With its proximity to Egypt's main hub, the airport will be an alternative destination for passengers traveling to surrounding areas.
