Jazeera Airways reports big spike in H1 2019 net profit

Jazeera Airways has reported a huge spike in first-half net profits for 2019.

The Kuwaiti airline posted KD6.2 million (approximately $20.2 million) in net profit during the first half of the year, up a massive 335.1% from KD1.4 million (approximately ($4.5 million) from the same period last year.

The growth it's said is due to passenger numbers rising by over 20%.

The company’s operating revenue rose by 37.% to KD47.3 million ($154.8 million) while operating profit increased by a whopping 391.6% to KD6.6 million ($21.6 million).

In the second quarter, the company reported a net profit of KD4.8 million ($15.7 million), up 171.2% from KD1.8 million in Q2 2018, and a 12% growth in the number of passengers.

Operating revenue increased by 29.5% to KD26 million ($85.1 million) and operating profit increased by 169.8% to KD4.8 million ($15.7 million).
