Jazeera Airways releases its first sustainability report

Jazeera Airways, recently released its first sustainability report titled ‘Flying Green - a Step Towards Sustainable Aviation.’ The report discloses all the airline's Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) efforts. In addition to the ESG efforts, the sustainability report highlights relevant information to shareholders, customers, employees, and communities.

The report is focused on the environment, diversity, and accountability.

Speaking about releasing the new report, Rohit Ramachandran, Chief Executive Officer, Jazeera Airways said: “It gives me a great sense of pride to share Jazeera Airways’ first sustainability report. Jazeera employs over 1,100 individuals that help transport over 3.6 million passengers annually across our network in the Middle East, Central & South Asia, Africa, and Europe. This makes us ethically, socially, and environmentally accountable as an organization."

The report highlights Jazeera Airways' effort to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. This includes focusing on fuel-efficient operations and utilizing aircraft powered by low-carbon fuel.

Jazeera's report also highlights the airline's climate compensation initiative, CHOOOSE, that allows passengers to offset their carbon impact. When a customer selects the new services, it automatically calculates the associated flight's carbon footprint and offers the customer the option to compensate for their travel footprint. The customer can contribute to various climate projects for the value of their flight's carbon emissions.
