Jambo Jet eyes expansion

Jambo Jet, an affiliate of Kenya Airways, is planning to extend its services to the East Africa region to destinations including: Wajir, Zanzibar, and Entebbe. The airline is planning to acquire two new aircraft in May and November this year to serve the new routes and ensure there are no longer any unnecessary delays to existing services.

Jambo Jet CEO Willem Hondius said that the existing operations to six destinations in the country have seen tremendous increase in the number of passengers in the first year – carrying 33,000 passengers in the first year in Lamu along, with the second year recording 50,000. The company is now projecting 70,000 passengers at the end of the year.
