Japan Airlines (JAL) is planning to place an order for at least 20 Boeing 737 MAX planes, reports Bloomberg.
As per sources, the order is most likely to come in a combination of smaller MAX 8 jets and some of Boeing's larger MAX 10 planes. The report further detailed that JAL was in initially in talks with Airbus, but is considering going with Boeing.
The deal is expected to be finalized towards the end of this month. According to a spokesperson from JAL, the deal is still under negotiation. He refused to give any more details.
Meanwhile, JAL’s very first Airbus A350-1000 in its full livery, was spotted coming out of the paint facility in Toulouse, signalling it being one-step close to delivery. This will be the first out of 13 aircraft order placed with Airbus.
Just recently, JAL confirmed its winter schedule announcing that its first Airbus A350-1000 will be deployed on the route between Tokyo Haneda International Airport and John F. Kennedy International Airport from October 29, 2023.
