Istanbul Airport achieves 2023 climate target
iGA Istanbul Airport has disclosed its 2023 environmental impact results, achieving its annual target with 14% less emissions and accomplishing a 26% emission reduction in 2023 compared top the baseline of 2019. A voluntary member of the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) Climate Change Program and Water Security Program, the airport achieved what it terms ‘significant success’ by achieving an ‘A’ rating for the former and a ‘B’ for the latter. “At iGA Istanbul Airport, we prioritise carrying out all our actions in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development goals,” highlighted Selahattin Bilgen, acting CEO of the airport. “The data reported by iGA Istanbul Airport will be added to the world’s most comprehensive sustainability data inventory.” CDP CEO Sherry Madera described the more than 23,000 companies reporting data through CDP this year as “not a preference, but an indispensible part of long-term success in the business world”. She added: “iGA Istanbul Airport also continues its journey that promotes the green future we hope for by reporting its sustainability data through CDP this year”.
