Embraer is in talks with Singapore Airlines to sell regional turboprops to Scoot, Bloomberg reports. Sources close to the matter have claimed that talks are on in the advanced stage and if everything falls in place Singapore Airlines will purchase 50 E-jets with a configuration of 80 to 146 seats.
Based on prices offered by aircraft appraiser Avitas, 50 Embraer 190-E2 jets was valued at approximately $1.61bn last year. For Singapore Airlines, the deal with Embraer will add a third OEM to its fleet after Boeing and Airbus.
Sources have stated that talks are currently ongoing, however, the possibility of an agreement is uncertain.
The news was not confirmed by Embraer or Scoot.
Experts believe that Scoot might opt for E175-E2 with a seating capacity of 80-80 or E190-E2 with a seating capacity of 97-114.
In November 2022, Embraer closed a deal of $389.4 million from an undisclosed airline for five E195-E2 with deliveries expected to start by the end of 2023.
