Iran drone attack hits Kuwait airport fuel tanks sparking major fire

An Iranian drone attack has struck fuel tanks at Kuwait International Airport, sparking a large fire and causing significant damage, according to Kuwaiti state news agency KUNA.

The attack, carried out by Iran and “its affiliated armed militias”, targeted fuel storage facilities at the airport, resulting in what KUNA described as a “massive” blaze. Despite the scale of the fire, no casualties were reported.

Emergency teams were deployed to the site, where initial reports indicated that the damage was limited to infrastructure. The affected facility is operated by the Kuwait Aviation Fuelling Company, according to reports citing a spokesperson for civil aviation authorities.

In a separate incident, Bahrain’s interior ministry said civil defence teams were working to extinguish a fire at a company facility following what authorities described as an Iranian attack. The ministry added that relevant authorities were taking necessary measures at the site.

Both airports have been subject to prior attacks from Iran since the Middle8 East conflict erupted on February 28.
