The head of Iran’s state airline says the company plans to sue Western firms that refuse to refuel its aircraft.
The official Iranian news agency (IRNA) quotes Farhad Parvaresh, chairman and CEO of Iran Air, as saying Saturday that Iran Air has already started legal action against “Western companies”. Parvaresh says Iran has submitted documents to a tribunal in The Hague and has employed lawyers to purse the case but no further details were given.
Western companies have stopped refuelling Iranian aircraft as part of their compliance with US sanctions against Iran, but which Iran says violates international law.
