Investec has appointed Colin Short to the Investec Aviation Team as Head of Technical Services, responsible for the technical oversight of the Investec aviation portfolio, based in Investec’s London office.
Prior to joining Investec, Colin was the Chief Technical Officer of KV Aviation Ltd (and formerly Allco Aviation) where he was responsible for the technical asset management of the KV portfolio, coordinating and managing all aircraft pre-purchase and mid-lease inspections, aircraft deliveries and re-deliveries, as well as drafting and negotiating technical lease documentation.
Colin previously spent six years as the Technical Manager for Airclaims Limited (now McLarens Aviation) where much of his time was involved in the asset management of large portfolios of aircraft for major lessors such as BAE Systems and Airbus, as well as providing aircraft inspection and advisory services to banks, financiers and lessors.
Colin originally trained and graduated as an Aircraft Engine Mechanic, spending 12 years with Australian Airlines in Melbourne. He has gained Aircraft Maintenance Engine Licenses on various aircraft from both Australian CASA and UK CAA. Colin has also previously worked with Ansett Airlines and British Midland Airways.
Colin holds a private pilot license with an instructor rating and also regularly flies and instructs in gliders.
