IndiGo Airlines and Skyborne Airline Academy has welcomed 14 new cadets to the IndiGo Cadet Pilot Programme during their letter of intent ceremony in Gurgaon, India. The cadets will commence the first phase of their flight training in the US at the academy's base in Florida before returning to India for their flight license conversion and type rating.
""I was determined to do my flight training in the US and a few of my friends were studying with Skyborne and only had good things to say,"" said a cadet from the programme, Raj Ganatra. ""I still remember the day when I first travelled in an aircraft. I was sitting with my parents in the airport and I watched the pilots going by. I saw how they walked, their uniform, their lifestyle—that was the day I told my parents that I wanted to become a pilot.""
Upon completion of the programme, the graduates of the IndiGo Cadet Pilot Programme will go on to fly with the airline as A320 first officers.
