IndiGo is on a robust capacity expansion on new domestic routes across India. One of the interesting fact about these routes is that IndiGo has launched first-ever direct flight on these routes. The airline anticipates that these new routes will help boost the city's travel economy while offering travelers another affordable travel destination.
"The airline is witnessing huge pent-up demand for domestic travel and increasing interest in travel abroad," Riyaz Peermohamed, Chief of Finance at IndiGo said during the AE, Dublin event. "Post-COVID, everybody wants to travel. Besides domestic demand there is a lot of demand for people for going abroad," he further added.
In sync with the Indian Government’s regional connectivity scheme and as a part of its post-pandemic expansion plans, the airline started direct flights between Dehradun and Pune, Hubli and Pune, Goa- Raipur, Kolhapur and Bengaluru and Jodhpur and Jaipur while resuming its flight from Kochi to Goa.
The airline anticipates high levels of travel demand in the region from leisure to business travels to pilgrimage tourists among others.
