IndiGo introduces fuel surcharge amid rising ATF prices

India’s largest airline, IndiGo, has introduced a fuel surcharge on domestic and international flights from 14 March as aviation turbine fuel prices rise sharply following escalating tensions in the Middle East. The surcharge allows the carrier to offset higher operating costs linked to rising jet fuel prices, which have increased alongside global crude markets. The move reflects growing pressure on airline margins across the Asia-Pacific region as carriers begin to pass higher fuel costs through to passengers.
