The Indian civil aviation minister Ajit Singh met with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today to discuss many issues afflicting the airline industry, foremost among them was new civil aviation policy and the pending cabinet decision to allow 49% foreign capital investment by international airlines in the domestic sector. Given the weak state of the aviation industry in India, it is looking increasingly likely that the foreign investment cap will be lifted.
