Incoming CEO for new Terminal One at JFK Airport
The new Terminal One at JFK International Airport is to gain a new CEO, with Jennifer Aument set to assume the role from April 1 2024. The terminal, which is currently under construction, is expected to open its first gates in 2026 before its full completion in 2030. She will step into the role following the departure of current CEO Dr Gerrard Bushell. Aument brings over 25 years of experience in developing major infrastructure across the highway, rail, airport and port sectors to the position, having recently served as chief executive of AECOM’s global transportation business. Before that, she spearheaded Transurban’s north American development, construction and operations as president and CEO. “My passion for infrastructure drives me and there is no better example than the New Terminal One of the transformative power of infrastructure on communities and economies,” explained Aument. “I’m thrilled to contribute to its legacy”. Luke Bugeka, chairman of the board of directors of JFK NTO and CEO of Ferrovial Airports, added: “Here dedication and passion for this industry will now bring her global vision, market insight, and energy to lead in delivering this world-class terminal to New York City”. The redevelopment of the terminal is part of the Port Authority’s $19bn investment into JFK, with the $9bn first phase representing the largest single-asset project financing in US history. Bushell also oversaw the successful issuance of $2bn in green bonds for the project in December 2023. When complete, the 24 million square feet, 23-gate facility will be the largest terminal at JFK.
