Icelandair to fly to 36 destinations in winter 2023

The "most extensive" winter schedule ever put together by Icelandair will see capacity up by around 20% year-on-year, according to the carrier, which will fly from the North Atlantic island to 36 destinations.

"Frequency to a number of destinations has been increased and for the first time day flights to New York and Boston are added to the winter schedule, putting weekly flights up to 11 from Reykjavik to Boston, and 21 from Reykjavik to New York," Icelandair announced in a March 21 statement.

Routes such as Rome, Barcelona, Raleigh Durham, Baltimore, and Vancouver routes have "been upgraded from seasonal to year-round for winter", when there will be "almost daily" flights from Keflavik Airport to Chicago, Minneapolis and Munich.

"Due to strong customer demand, we are now introducing our most extensive winter schedule to date. We have been able to extend previously seasonal routes to year-round services and increase frequencies on other routes throughout the network for the winter 23/24 season," said Tomas Ingason, the airline's chief revenue officer.
