Icelandair Group firms Bombardier plans

Iceland Air has purchased three used Bombardier Q400s, which will be operated by its Air Iceland regional subsidiary as upgrades to the current Fokker 50s.

The 2000- and 2001-vintage aircraft will be financed with cash holdings and will be delivered in July and August 2015. Air Iceland will then have an all-Bombardier fleet of three Q400s and two Q200s. "The total investment will increase the total assets of Icelandair Group by US$25 million when the estimated sales price of the Air Iceland's five Fokker 50 aircraft has been taken into account," the group said in a filing.
