Faced with growing concerns on the back of the MH17 disaster over the danger to commercial flights overflying war zones, ICAO will hold a “high level meeting” on 29 July to discuss the topic.
To be held at its Montreal headquarters, the discussions will be attended by the directors general of IATA, Airports Council International and the Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation.
The meeting will discuss any potential action that could mitigate risks to civil aviation from conflict zones.
