Iberia back to pre-pandemic schedule for summer 2023

Iberia, the Spanish carrier that is part of International Airlines Group (IAG), has lined up "about 280 weekly flights" to Latin America for summer 2023.

Among the "novelties" in the schedule will be three daily flights to and from Mexico and an increase from 14 to 18 flights a week to and from Bogota. Peruvian capital Lima is to get three more flights per week.

Iberia said it will operate daily flights to Dallas and will revive summer routes to San Francisco and Washington DC.

Closer to home, the carrier said it would offer "attractive summer destinations" in Croatia, Greece, Italy and Portugal, with Dubrovnik, Corfu, Catania and Faro among the locations listed.

"Latin America and the Caribbean have always been at the centre of our strategy, but this year we will go further to increase our presence in markets such as Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru, strengthen our leadership on routes between Latin America and Europe and, at the same time, support the role of Madrid’s airport as a bridge between both regions," said María Jesús López-Solás, Iberia's commercial, network and alliances director.
