Apptio, the provider of Technology Business Management (TBM) SaaS applications, today announced that International Airlines Group (IAG) has selected Apptio’s IT Cost Transparency solution to optimise the measurement of the cost and consumption of its enterprise IT services. IAG is developing full visibility of its IT cost base, enabling service optimisation to its key business partners and supporting future growth initiatives.
As the parent company of British Airways, Iberia and Vueling, IAG has a fleet of 431 aircraft, flying to 243 destinations and carrying 67.2 million passengers each year. IAG has chosen Apptio’s IT Cost Transparency solution to assess and optimise the cost performance across its entire internal portfolio. The objective is to harmonise systems and provide consistent information across multiple IT groups within each of its operating companies.
Nigel Underwood, IAG’s Chief Information Officer, said: “Our information and systems are critical to support the Group’s operations. This solution will allow us to measure our IT capabilities, costs and volumes in a more refined way and facilitate cultural change across our IT team by delivering modern working practices and services. We are identifying and leveraging areas of good performance across the Group to generate value for the business through IT cost efficiencies”.
Colin Rowland, VP at Apptio, EMEA, concludes: “Apptio powers some of the world's largest and most innovative IT departments and we are delighted that IAG has also chosen us as a partner in their IT Transformation. The capabilities we offer give organisations like IAG greater visibility over their IT costs, deliver insights that support optimisation and growth and, ultimately, to run IT as a business. We look forward to working with IAG to continue to support them as they move through this transformative period.”
