International Consolidated Airlines Group (IAG) has reported a third quarter operating profit of €1.25bn million before exceptional items compared to €900 million in 2014 – these figures exclude Aer Lingus which accounts for €1,205 million. Revenue for the quarter was 15.2% €6.756bn. Passenger unit revenue for the quarter rose 6.5%, excluding Aer Lingus and at constant currency it was down 3.3%. Fuel unit costs for the quarter were down 8.6% and down 19.7% at constant currency. Non-fuel unit costs for the quarter were up 5.6%; excluding Aer Lingus and at constant currency, they fell 3.5%.
For the nine months to September 30, 2015, IAG has posted an operating profit of €1.805bn before exceptional items, compared to €1.13bn in 2014 – an increase of 59.7%, excluding Aer Lingus and exceptional items it was €1.76bn. IAG held cash of €6.786bn at September 30, 2015, which was up €1.842bn on 2014 year end, including €958 million from Aer Lingus.
