June traffic figures for the merged airline company International Consolidated Airlines Group, which comprises British Airways and Iberia Airlines, rose 3.8% to 4.5 million passengers.
Group premium traffic for June grew by 25.2%, with 6.7% growth in non-premium traffic, while RPK rose by 9.2% to 14.5 million over the 13.3 million posted in June 2010.
Traffic statistics for June are impacted by the positive comparison from disruption at British Airways last year and the network restructuring in Iberia. The group stated that underlying revenue trends were in line with previous months, with demand continuing to show firm underlying growth particularly in the long haul premium segment.
June passenger load factor totaled 81.7% versus 79.9%.
