Honeywell names CEO and chair of forthcoming aerospace spin-off

Honeywell has announced two new executive hires at its forthcoming aerospace spin-off, as the US manufacturer is set to create three independent companies out of its main business units.

When Honeywell Aerospace launches in H2 2026, Jim Currier will serve as president and CEO, and Craig Arnold will serve as chair.

In addition, Arnold will serve on the board of directors at Honeywell, effectively immediately, until the spin-off is ready to launch.

Currier has served as president and CEO of Honeywell's Aerospace Technologies business since 2023.

Previously, he spent nearly two decades in senior roles at Honeywell, including as president of electronic solutions, president of aftermarket in EMEA and India, and vice president of airlines for North America.

Arnold brings to Honeywell more than two decades of experience in senior leadership roles at industrial and technology businesses.

Most recently, he served as chair and CEO of Eaton Corporation, a global intelligent power management company, and he serves as lead director on the board of directors at Medtronic.

He previously spent more than two decades at General Electric, where he held international leadership roles across multiple businesses.

When Honeywell Aerospace launches as an independent company, it is expected to be one of the largest publicly listed aerospace suppliers in the US, with annual sales of $15bn in 2024.

The other two newly independent companies will be Honeywell Automation and Honeywell Advanced Materials.
