Over 4,670 one-way flights between the UK and US are expected in July 2024; the highest number on record, according to aviation analytics firm Cirium.
With US Independence Day on July 4, demand for transatlantic travel is set to rise. On that day alone, 149 flights are scheduled to depart the UK bound for the US.
Flights between the UK and US are also up 1.5% on July 2019 levels, as transatlantic flights rise in popularity post-pandemic. In addition, comparing July 2024 to July 2014, transatlantic flights between UK and US increased over 21%.
In its data analytics, it found 10 airlines offered direct flights from the UK to the US, with British Airways taking the lead, followed by Virgin Atlantic, American Airlines, United, and Delta.
