Helsinki Airport reports record figures for June 2019

Helsinki Airport has released its latest traffic figures for June 2019.

Finland's busiest airport reported a record with over two million passengers travelling through in June, an increase of 5.1%.

It was reported that 82% of passengers, about 8.7 million, flew on international scheduled flights in January-June.

During the first six months of the year, Helsinki Airport flew 10.6 million passengers, an increase of 5.0%.

“At the same time as traffic continues to grow, we are doing significant construction and renovation work at Helsinki, Rovaniemi and Kittilä Airports.  It is a complex equation in a round-the-clock  environment, but it is a necessity to ensure we are able to provide the best connections from Finland to the world in the future. It is worth noting that as air traffic has increased, we have grown sustainably. All of Finavia’s 21 airports are carbon neutral and all of the electricity used at Helsinki Airport is renewable”, says Joni Sundelin, senior vice president for route development and director of Helsinki Airport.
