At the beginning of September, Helmut Neuper took over the role of president and CEO of MTU Maintenance Canada. He joins MTU in Canada after nearly three years as chief operating officer of Airfoil Services, a joint venture between MTU Maintenance and Lufthansa Technik. Neuper follows interim CEO Matthias Voss.
Neuper holds a degree in aeronautical engineering as well as an Executive MBA and has worked in various positions within MTU and related companies throughout his career. He has gained extensive knowledge of the company’s location in Vancouver, Canada, most recently during his time as director of accessory business from 2007-2013.

“Helmut Neuper has twenty years’ experience in the MRO industry and we are de-lighted that he is taking on the challenge of running such a key location for MTU,” says Rainer Martens, Chief Operating Officer (COO), MTU Aero Engines. “Matthias Voss represented our subsidiary well during the interim period and we are confident the leadership team will make significant contribution to our future operations in Canada.”
MTU Maintenance Canada is the North American member of the MTU Maintenance network of companies, the largest independent provider of commercial engine maintenance services worldwide. Based in Richmond, British Columbia, the company operates a shop in the immediate vicinity of Vancouver's international airport where it repairs and overhauls engines and accessories and performs engine tests. MTU's Canadian affiliate holds all OEM licenses required for the repair and over-haul of GE CF6 series and CFMI CFM56-3 engines. Apart from accessory repairs in its own shop, the company also offers its customers so-called Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) management services which play an increasing role in MTU's service offerings.
