Wintry weather in east Asia resulted in hundreds of flights in and out of Japan being cancelled on January 25, with ANA and Japan Airlines appearing to be worst-affected carriers.
"From January 25 to January 28, bad weather is forecasted in the broad area of Japan. On January 26, some flights are cancelled due to ship arrangement or crew rotation and many other flights may be affected due to heavy snow and strong wind," ANA said.
The flight information bulletin board on Tokyo-Haneda Airport's website showed dozens of cancellations.
Train and car travel has also been disrupted in Japan, local media have reported.
The cancellations came a month after a previous bout of heavy snow resulted in mass flight cancellations.
