HCS Group joins Aviation Initiative for Renewable Energy

HCS Group has joined the Aviation Initiative for Renewable Energy in Germany (aireg). The initiative is an association of companies and organisations from industry, research and science and is committed to achieving the ambitious COreduction targets of the aviation industry.

“We are convinced that we can make an important contribution to more sustainable flying,” commented Harald Dialer, chief commercial officer, HCS Group. "As a member of aireg, we are committed to driving the market ramp-up of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and actively supporting the various stakeholders in the aviation industry with their sustainability strategies by contributing our long-standing expertise in processing renewable feedstocks into innovative energy solutions."

Melanie Form, member, aireg board and managing director, added: "We are very pleased to welcome HCS Group as a new member. The HCS Group's plan to build an SAF production facility in Speyer is an important contribution to establishing Germany as an SAF production location. We are convinced that by working together, we will be able to advance the defossilisation of aviation."

HCS Group is a leading international supplier of solutions for high-value hydrocarbon specialties. The company also plans to build a production facility at its manufacturing center in Speyer, Germany, operated by Haltermann Carless. The site will provide customers in Europe with SAF produced from waste biomass from the agricultural and forestry sector and in compliance with Europe’s Renewable Energy Directive RED II.
