Hainan Airlines resumes Beijing to Boston service

Hainan Airlines has resumed its Beijing to Boston service, the carrier’s seventh intercontinental route originating from Beijing.

The resumption of services from Boston’s Logan International Airport to Beijing Capital International Airport marks Hainan Airlines’ first China-US flight since the Covid-19 outbreak. The route is now scheduled for three round-trip flights (incorporating a brief stop in Seattle on the homebound leg) every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday using Boeing 787-9 aircraft.

During a recent meeting between Chinese president Xi Jinping and US president Joe Biden in San Francisco, President Xi emphasized the need for both nations to enhance what the airline describes as ‘humanistic exchanges,’ advocating for more direct flights between the two nations.

In addition to its existing over 30 international and regional round-trip passenger routes, Hainan Airlines notes it is now ‘meticulously preparing to restore its China-US flight frequency to pre-pandemic levels as quickly as possible’
