Hainan Airlines changes lessors of three previously leased aircraft in $45.9 million deal

Hainan Airlines has changed the lessors of three previously leased aircraft in a deal worth $45.9 million, according to a filing in the Shanghai Stock Exchange.

One of the aircraft will be sold to a special purpose vehicle established by Tianjin Yangzijiang No. 81 Leasing, an affiliate of Hainan Airlines. The aircraft was previously leased by Meritix Airlease in September 2006,

Hainan Airlines will then lease the aircraft from Yangzijiang No. 81 for $12.4 million.

Separately, two aircraft leased by its subsidiary Yunnan Lucky Air with Panda Aviation in June 2011 and Victoria Peak Aviation in September 2011 will be transferred to Tianjin Yangzijiang No. 79 Leasing.

The lessors Panda Aviation and Victoria Peak Aviation, have entered bankruptcy liquidation process.

Their liquidator, Kroll Advisory, Ireland plans to sell the two aircraft to Yangzijiang No. 79. Hainan Airlines will then lease the aircraft for $33.6 million.
