HAECO Xiamen to build one of the largest maintenance facilities at Xiang’an Airport

HAECO Xiamen recently started the construction of its new maintenance facility in Xiamen Xiang’an International Airport. The new facility will cover a total area of 537,300 square meters including a construction area of 292,300 square meter and an apron area of 284,000 square meter. The area will house 18 new buildings to cater to apron engineering, engine test bays, utility tunnel, aviation fuel supply and other outdoor works.

The new facility will have 12 widebody and six narrowbody maintenance bays as well as two separate painting bays to provide flexible parking for multiple aircraft types and different maintenance needs. HAECO Xiamen claims that on completion, it will be the largest single span aircraft maintenance hangar in the world.

HAECO said that the new facility will combine innovation, green design and advanced technology to achieve optimum energy utilisation and operational efficiency. This is the largest single investment by the HAECO Group since its inception and it reflects HAECO’s confidence in its continued investment in the Chinese Mainland.

HAECO Xiamen is currently based in Xiamen Gaoqi International airport.
