Previously the EVP & COO of Sun Country Airlines, Greg Mays has been appointed president of Air Transport Services Group (ATSG).
Mays has also previously worked at Alaska Airlines, where he helped to strengthen maintenance, engineering, and labour relations. He also gathered over a decade’s worth of experience at Delta Air Lines, overseeing complex global operations in maintenance, ground handling, and cargo. Furthermore, Mays played a role at Boston Consulting Group, where he advised his clients on high-stakes operational challenges.
“Greg is a strategic and people-focused leader who consistently elevates performance through collaboration, discipline, and vision and we are excited to have him on board,” said Mike Berger, CEO of ATSG. “His operational expertise along with his aviation acumen, position him perfectly to propel ATSG forward with a continued focus on safety, growth, operational excellence, and profitability.”
ATSG still plans to expand its global leasing platform with the A330 converted freighter and its EASA-approved A321 under this new leadership. Mays himself has expressed a focus on initiatives such as AirborneTech, which paves the way for employees to earn—in as little as one year—their aviation maintenance technician licence.
“ATSG has built a strong foundation in one of the most complex industries,” Mays adds. “My focus will be on strengthening that foundation by driving operational precision, empowering teams, and expanding capabilities. I look forward to working with colleagues across all functions to chart our next chapter together.”
