Greenland’s Ministry of Housing, Construction and Infrastructure has approved Aluu Airlines and Greenland Express to operate scheduled domestic services within Greenland. Greenland’s Trafikstyrelsen will also allow the carrier’s to operate scheduled services to and from Greenland.
In a press release, the Minister of Housing, Construction and Infrastructure, Knud Kristiansen, said: “I have great expectations for both Aluu Airlines and Greenland Express which will soon plan, advertise and start selling seats on their upcoming routes both within Greenland and to and from Greenland. I have an expectation that increased competition in the air will improve prices for the benefit of travellers.”
Greenland Express plans to launch domestic flights by August to destinations including Nuuk, Aasiaat, Ilulissat and Manitsoq.
