Greater Bay Airlines delays launch

Hong Kong startup carrier, Greater Bay Airlines, is reported to have delayed the date of its first commercial flights due to the escalating COVID-19 pandemic in Hong Kong.

Although the airline was granted its AOC last month and has now taken delivery of three 737-800s from ICBC Leasing, has yet to begin commercial flights.  Chief executive officer, Algernon Yau, commented that the two week hotel quarantine for travellers on arrival to the city would need to be relaxed before Greater Bay would commit to a launch date and its first routes.

"I think we would need around three months in advance," he told Reuters.
