The Indian civil aviation ministry has confirmed that Air India will not be closed even though it has been designated as a sick public sector unit.
Minister of State for Civil Aviation Mahesh Sharma has declared the importance of keeping the flag carrier and that the government would continue to prop up the airline while it is implementing its turnaround and financial restructuring plan.
