GOAL Aircraft Leasing - a joint venture between KGAL and Deutsche Lufthansa - has appointed Vicente Alava Pons as managing director. Along with co-managing director Christian Schloemann and the GOAL team, Pons will help drive the company's growth and open up new markets.
Pons has 28 years of experience in global aviation finance and joined from Aviation Capital Group where he was managing director of global aircraft financing solutions. He has held positions at LR AirFinance and MUFG Bank, DVB Bnak, and Lufthansa Leasing.
"Pons brings his enormous expertise, an extensive network of contacts within the aviation industry, and his own aspirations for GOAL,” said KGAL co-CEO André Zücker.
Pons commented: “My aim is to actively shape the business and expand GOAL's focus.” He said the company wants to secure new opportunities and investment markets such as in the Middle East and Asia.
